Three things we need from you

What you want from the work. Back that tightens at a desk, a return to running, strength after a long gap, or simply moving well at sixty — the goal decides which instructor and which apparatus we start you on.

When you can realistically come. Give us two or three windows rather than one. Early mornings and the 5–7pm block fill first, so a second option usually gets you into the calendar a week sooner.

Anything your body is doing right now. A recent surgery, a pregnancy, a disc issue, a shoulder that clicks. You are not being screened out — the instructor simply plans different exercises, and we would rather know before you are on the reformer than after.

Sessions run 55 minutes at 41 Union Square West, Suite 501, directly above 4/5/6, N/Q/R/W and L at 14th St–Union Square. Private sessions are $175; duet pricing is confirmed when you book, since it isn't published yet. 6- and 12-session packages bring the per-session private rate down once you know the cadence that suits you.

Before your first session

What the first hour is actually like

Arrive about ten minutes early. The studio is on the fifth floor of 41 Union Square West, Suite 501, and there is a private waiting area — you will not be standing at a reception desk. Change into fitted clothing and grip socks, and the instructor will spend the first few minutes asking about your history and watching how you stand, hinge and squat.

Most of the session happens on the reformer. Spring tension is set for you, not for a class, and the instructor stays beside the carriage giving hands-on cues rather than counting reps from across a room. Expect footwork, some supine leg and arm work through the straps, side lying and a period of standing or kneeling work depending on what your body tolerated earlier in the hour. Tower or barrel work often closes the session for spinal extension.

You will leave knowing what the instructor observed and what the next two or three sessions are meant to build. If Pilates turns out not to be the right fit, we will say so — this is a small studio and a client who does not want to come back is not useful to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I send this form?

A person reads it — this is not an automated booking calendar. We match your goals and availability against instructor schedules and reply with one or two specific times to confirm, usually within one business day. Nothing is charged when you submit the form.

Do I need Pilates experience to book a first session?

No. A first session with no prior experience is normal and is mostly the instructor learning how you move: what your hips and shoulders do under load, where range is limited, and what you want out of the work. You will use the reformer in that first session, at settings chosen for a beginner.

What should I wear and bring?

Fitted athletic clothing you can move in — loose shorts and long drawstrings catch in springs and straps. Grip socks are required on the apparatus; if you don't own a pair, tell us in the form and we'll have some ready. Bring water.

Can I book for two people?

Yes — choose duet in your message and name your partner, or ask to be paired. Duet sessions run the same 55 minutes as a private, priced per person at a lower rate than a solo private. Duet pricing isn't published yet, so tell us in the form and we'll confirm it when we reply. The duet sessions page covers how pairing works.

What is the cancellation window?

Classes can be cancelled up to 12 hours before the start time and the credit returns to your account. Private sessions need 24 hours. Professional rental bookings follow the 12-hour window, because the room is held out of the calendar and no one else can use it.

Is this medical or rehabilitation treatment?

No. Enhancewell Pilates is fitness instruction. We do not diagnose, treat or make medical claims. Clients who are working around an injury are welcome once their own physician or physical therapist has cleared them for exercise, and instructors adapt around limits you tell us about.
